TÜBA-GEBİP Award to Boğaziçi University Scientists
Under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the “2024 TÜBA and TÜBİTAK Science Awards Ceremony” organized jointly by TÜBA (the Turkish Academy of Sciences) and TÜBİTAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) was held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
At the ceremony, Boğaziçi University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Öztürk from the Department of Educational Sciences and Dr. Kenan Tekin from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, received the Young Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP) from the President of the Republic of Türkiye.
The TÜBA-GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientist) Awards Program was launched in 2001 by the Turkish Academy of Sciences with the aim of “bringing together young scientists in Türkiye who stand out with their research under the umbrella of the Academy, fostering a synergistic environment through interactions among themselves and with Academy members, and providing them with the academic and financial support and encouragement they need.”
Applications are evaluated by referees and Academy committees based on the candidates’ academic backgrounds, the quality and quantity of their national and international publications, and the originality, methodology, and feasibility of their proposed projects.
This year, 25 young scientists from 20 different universities received the TÜBA-GEBİP Award. The award also includes financial support for a period of three years.
We congratulate our esteemed faculty members and wish them continued success.
